Coming season for Ludhiana-based hosiery manufacturers seems positive as orders placed at Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) this time were at least 15 per cent more than what were placed during previous years. Five-day long two BSMs were organized by local associations Knitwear and Apparel Manufacturers Association of Ludhiana (KAMAL) and Ludhiana Apparel & Knitwear Manufacturers’ Association (LAKMA). These BSMs were visited by almost 3,000 dealers from across the country. Though this time visitors were little less but were serious business buyers. The industry experts also attribute the reason for these orders to the Diwali festival in November. Whenever Diwali falls in October, a reduction is witnessed in the sale of hosiery products. After Diwali, the season of marriages will start that will continue till December. All these factors significantly affect the orders from across the country.
