
Japan, the third largest importer of the world has invited Pakistani producers to tap the Japanese market and reduce their dependency on China, whose manufacturing costs are on a rise. Japan Textile Importers Association in a presentation to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) underlined the business opportunities and presented the guidelines for tapping the Japanese market.
The presentation suggested that TDAP should work towards advising Pakistan’s producers to improve proposition ability on fabric, accessory, pattern, design, sewing technique, interlining, and thread with special emphasis on human resource development as the Japanese quality standard of Japanese garments is rigorous. It also suggested that Pakistani suppliers should exhibit at fairs and participate in International Fashion Fair every January and July; Interior lifestyle Tokyo every June; and improve public relations of Pakistan cotton.
