Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Textile and Industries, Abbas Khan Afridi asserted that draft of the first textile policy would be forwarded to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in coming three weeks for approval. He said, “Both the Government and the industry will have to join hands to take advantage of the potential of all related sectors of ‘white gold’ the country has in huge quantity. The textile sector alone has the potential to steer the country out of its financial crisis, provided we start focusing on exporting value-added products instead of raw materials.”
