Avenue Supermarts, which owns and operates the D-Mart retail chain, reported an 18.4% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue from operations to Rs 19,206.18 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
The company had reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs 16,218.79 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing made over the weekend.
On a sequential basis, revenue from operations increased 4.7% from Rs 18,343.49 crore reported in the quarter ended June 30.
The Radhakishan Damani-led retailer had 518 stores as of September 30. The store count includes the D-Mart outlet in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, which is currently closed to customers for reconstruction.
The revenue update indicates continued growth in the retailer’s store network and operations despite one outlet remaining shut for reconstruction. The company’s revenue growth remained in the high teens amid increasing competition from quick-commerce dark stores, particularly in metropolitan markets.
D-Mart, promoted by Radhakishan Damani and his family, retails basic home and personal products across several markets in India. Its presence includes Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, the National Capital Region (NCR), Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Rajasthan.
