Bewakoof, the direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion and lifestyle brand owned by the Aditya Birla Group, reported a 40.5% increase in operating revenue to Rs 243 crore (US $25.32 million) in FY26, compared with Rs 173 crore (US $18.03 million) in FY25.
The company, which sells products including T-shirts, hoodies, bags and phone covers, continued to generate the majority of its revenue from product sales during the fiscal year ended March 2026.
On the expenditure side, material costs remained the largest expense. The cost of materials consumed increased 45.7% to Rs 134 crore (US $13.96 million) in FY26 from Rs 92 crore (US $9.59 million) in the previous fiscal.
Employee benefit expenses rose 7.7% to Rs 28 crore (US $2.92 million), while marketing and promotional expenses increased 26.5% to Rs 62 crore (US $6.46 million). Transportation and handling expenses, however, declined 17.1% to Rs 29 crore (US $3.02 million) from Rs 35 crore (US $3.65 million).
Depreciation expenses nearly tripled to Rs 16.6 crore (US $1.73 million) from Rs 6 crore (US $0.63 million), while other operating expenses increased 66.1% to Rs 66.4 crore (US $6.92 million).
As a result, Bewakoof’s total expenditure increased 35.5% to Rs 336 crore (US $35.01 million) in FY26 from Rs 248 crore (US $25.84 million) in FY25.
Despite the revenue growth, the company’s net loss widened 19.4% to Rs 87.4 crore (US $9.11 million) from Rs 73.2 crore (US $7.63 million) in the previous fiscal.
However, EBITDA performance improved marginally. The company’s EBITDA loss narrowed to Rs 59.8 crore (US $6.23 million) from Rs 60.7 crore (US $6.33 million), while its EBITDA margin improved to -24.6% from -35.1%.
Return on capital employed (ROCE) also improved to -63.4% from -96.6% in FY25.
Operational efficiency improved during the year, with the company spending Rs 1.38 for every Rs 1 of operating revenue, compared with Rs 1.43 in FY25.
Bewakoof’s total current assets increased to Rs 91.1 crore (US $9.49 million) at the end of FY26 from Rs 84.8 crore (US $8.84 million) a year earlier. Cash and bank balances rose to Rs 22 lakh from Rs 18 lakh.
FY26 also marked a leadership change for the company, with co-founder Prabhkiran Singh stepping down in February after a 14-year association with Bewakoof.
The development came nearly three years after Aditya Birla Digital Fashion Ventures (ABDFVL), through its digital-first fashion and lifestyle venture TMRW, acquired a majority stake in Bewakoof in February 2023.
