V2 Retail has approved the re-appointment of Ram Chandra Agarwal as Chairman and Managing Director for a further period of five years, effective November 22, 2026.
The decision was taken by the company’s Board of Directors during its meeting held on May 28, 2026, and remains subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Agarwal, a veteran of India’s retail industry with more than three decades of experience, is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of value retailing in the country. As a founding member of the board, he has played a key role in shaping V2 Retail’s expansion strategy, particularly across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
Agarwal is also known for founding Vishal Mega Mart, one of India’s earliest large-scale value retail chains, before later establishing V2 Retail as a renewed and more financially disciplined retail venture.
Under his leadership, V2 Retail has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing value fashion retailers, with the company significantly accelerating store expansion and revenue growth in recent years. The retailer has also strengthened its presence in emerging cities while focusing on affordable fashion and operational efficiency.
V2 Retail has reported strong business momentum over the past few financial years, supported by aggressive store additions and improved profitability. The company has continued to expand its footprint across multiple states, reinforcing its position in India’s organised value retail segment.
