The Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government has designated 450 acres from six shuttered textile mills as part of its goal to develop a land bank of 150,000 acres for industrial use by 2027. The UP State Industrial Development Authority (Upsida) will purchase the land parcels.
These six UP Cooperative Spinning Mills Federation mills, which are situated in the districts of Sitapur, Fatehpur, Prayagraj, Ghazipur, Farrukhabad, and Bulandshahr, have been out of commission for more than 20 years.
UP Minister of Industrial Development Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi claimed that the state would see new opportunities for development and employment creation as a result of the redistribution of land parcels.
More abandoned spinning and yarn mills, totalling more than 1,000 acres, may be repurposed for similar purposes in the future, according to sources. Meerut, Hardoi, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Banda, Ballia, Mau, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Amroha, Bareilly, Ghazipur, Fatehpur, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bijnor, Sant Kabirnagar, and Bulandshahr districts are where these can be found.
The Yamuna Motorway Industrial Development Authority, the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority, the Noida and Greater Noida industrial development authority, and Upsida will all contribute to the creation of the planned land bank.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is confident that the targeted land bank will help small and medium-sized businesses as well as huge industries, and he has already instructed the industrial development authorities to speed up the land purchase and allocation process to investors.
