Under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is investing over US $ 35.53 million (Rs. 310 crore) to build three textile parks in Andhra Pradesh: Anatapuramu, Nellore, and Guntur. These parks will increase investments, create job opportunities, and boost exports in the textile sector. At Visakhapatnam, one park has already been finished for US $ 15.41 million (Rs. 134.41 crore).
This was said in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State (MoS) for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada in response to a query from Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, an MP from Nellore, on the Union Government’s assistance in fostering industrial growth in the state. He explained that the Centre releases a number of programs and regulations to encourage Andhra Pradesh’s industrialisation.
Under SITP, the Ministry of Textiles has been establishing the Hindupur Vyapar Apparel Park in Anantapuramu, Tarakeswara Textile Park in Nellore, and Guntur Textile Park in Guntur, each costing US $ 11.72 million (Rs. 102.27 crore), US $ 11.86 million (Rs. 103.44 crore), and US $ 12.05 million (Rs. 105.12 crore), respectively. A similar plan has already been used to finish Visakhapatnam’s Brandix India Apparel Park.
Jitin Prasada added that the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) is being implemented nationwide by the Ministry of MSME. A grant of US $ 5.69 million (Rs. 49.66 crore) has been made available under this initiative for approved infrastructure development projects in Andhra Pradesh year 2024–2025.
As of right now, the Indian Government has authorised the construction of three projects in Andhra Pradesh at the Krishnapatnam node, Kopparthy Industrial Area, and Orvakal Industrial Area as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). The National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) has disbursed more than US $ 61 million (Rs. 531.36 crore) in the past five years.
