Two textile parks in Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka are to be set up in 3 years. The parks will be located in Hiregowja and Cheelanahalli villages of the district. Following the guidelines, the Department of Commerce and Industries (Textiles) approved the establishment of both textile parks under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Due to its proximity to the national highway, the designated area near Hiregowja is ideally situated for the establishment of ready-made textile manufacturing facilities and garment factories. With an estimated 3,000 direct jobs, this initiative is anticipated to generate substantial employment prospects, especially for women, according to local sources.
Furthermore, indirect job opportunities will also arise as industries start up. According to sources, Chikkamagaluru City is anticipated to grow eastward and the value of the surrounding area is anticipated to rise.
According to an official, the project is anticipated to provide more than 5,000 direct work possibilities in Cheelanahalli, where 25 acres have been set aside.
