Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. has developed a groundbreaking fabric designed for activewear, blending contact cooling with sweat stickiness prevention. The dual-layer knit structure alternates hydrophobic and hydrophilic WAVERON™ yarns in its inner layer, while the outer layer disperses moisture. This unique combination ensures both dryness and a cooling effect, enhancing wearer comfort.
Set to launch in the 2026 spring/summer sportswear season, Teijin Frontier aims to sell 100,000 meters initially and expand to 1 million meters annually by 2028. The fabric is also expected to find applications in functional and fashion apparel.
Addressing the dual demands of cooling and sweat management, the fabric leverages technologies from TRIPLEDRY™ CARAT™ and WAVERON™. The WAVERON™ yarn, enriched with titanium oxide for a cooling sensation, is designed with a flat, cross-sectional shape to increase skin contact and breathability. Meanwhile, TRIPLEDRY™ CARAT™ ensures optimal sweat absorption and anti-stickiness properties.
Promoting sustainability, the fabric is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester and utilises PFAS-free water repellent technology, aligning with eco-friendly standards.
