HSBC Bangladesh has entered into a partnership with DBL Lifestyles Ltd, the flagship retail brand of DBL Group, to improve the latter’s digital payment capabilities. The agreement was signed by Stuart Rogers, HSBC’s regional head of commercial banking for international markets in Asia Pacific, and MA Quader, deputy managing director and group CEO of DBL Group, at DBL’s Dhaka office.
This collaboration aims to provide a seamless cashless payment experience for DBL Lifestyles customers through HSBC’s newly launched digital collection solution, “Omni Collect.” As the authorised local seller for renowned global brands such as Puma, Nike, Adidas, and Levi’s, DBL Lifestyles will enable its retail customers to make digital payments effortlessly by scanning a QR code using their smartphones at checkout.
The Omni Collect solution will also allow DBL Lifestyles to receive sales proceeds through various digital channels, including credit cards, debit cards, mobile financial services (MFS), and internet banking while offering a comprehensive overview of collections.
MA Rahim, vice-chairman of DBL Group, expressed appreciation for the partnership, stating, “DBL Group has a longstanding business relationship with HSBC Bangladesh, and we value the innovative technologies they provide.” He added that the Omni Collect solution is expected to enhance efficiency in the treasury operations of their retail business.
Stuart Rogers emphasised HSBC’s commitment to digital transformation, noting, “We are dedicated to introducing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers.” He expressed confidence that this partnership would be mutually beneficial and reaffirmed HSBC’s support for DBL Group’s digital transformation journey.
Newaz Musharraf, head of global payments solutions at HSBC Bangladesh, along with senior officials from both organizations, were present at the signing ceremony.
