Copenhagen-based womenswear brand Saks Potts has announced plans to close in the spring of 2025, marking the end of a decade of bold and unconventional designs. Founders Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts, who launched the label in 2014, shared the news on Instagram, emphasizing that the closure is not due to financial issues but a conscious decision to end on a high note.
Saks Potts gained recognition for its daring designs, winning the Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize in 2023 and becoming a fixture at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Signature pieces, such as the fur-trimmed ‘Foxy’ coat and relaxed-fit ‘Salma’ jeans, reflected the duo’s blend of technical expertise and artistic flair. Their designs have been worn by celebrities like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.
In a heartfelt statement, Saks and Potts expressed gratitude to their supporters, describing the journey as “extraordinary” and sharing their excitement for future ventures. The brand, known for its consistent growth and global presence in over 50 retailers, plans to conclude with its strongest financial year in 2024.
As the founders prepare to explore new opportunities, they aim to celebrate their legacy with their final collection and a “proper farewell” to their partners and customers.
