Global luxury fashion group Kering is considering switching current Balenciaga Chief Executive Officer Cedric Charbit to head Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) as an executive, as per media reports.
Charbit will be replacing YSL’s current head Francesca Bellettini. Internal sources mentioned that the official announcement is set to release in the coming week.
The 47-year-old will join Yves Saint Laurent to collaborate with Anthony Vaccarello. Together, they will work to further elevate the label’s renowned feminine aesthetic and innovative designs, such as Vaccarello’s reimagined Sahara collection.
Bellettini has played a pivotal role in sustaining YSL through its weak phase. The leadership switch between the brands will enable Francesca Bellettini to actively focus on her deputy CEO in charge of brand development position at Kering, the report added.
Kering has also made other changes in the executive line-ups including declaring Stefano Cantino, former LVMH executive as the new chief executive of Gucci. With positive sales reports, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta, are some of Kering’s most popular labels.
