Fashion label 3.1 Phillip Lim’s co-founder and creative director, the man behind the name, Philip Lim has announced his exit from the brand.
The designer and brand’s co-founder made this revelation through a social media post on Instagram which said that the journey has taught him invaluable lessons and he will carry all these learnings to his next chapter of life. The designer also expressed his gratitude towards the whole community.
The fashion label 3.1 Phillip Lim debuted in 2005 during New York Fashion Week. Phillip Lim and Wen Zhou, who is currently the label’s president and CEO, co-founded the brand. Because of its ability to combine accessibility with luxury, the brand immediately became well-known.
In a joint statement, Lim and Zhou expressed mutual respect and gratitude for their long-standing partnership. They acknowledged the brand’s significant achievements and the strong community it has fostered.
3.1 Phillip Lim has expanded its offerings to include womenswear, menswear, accessories, and footwear. The brand has a global presence with retail stores in the US, China, Japan, and South Korea, as well as an online store.
Lim’s final collection for the brand was showcased during New York Fashion Week in September. A successor for the creative director role has yet to be announced.
