This autumn, Uniqlo, a Japanese clothes retailer, expanded its market share in Canada by opening five new locations. The brand has a well-established national footprint, and this most recent expansion adds high-profile locations in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.
As part of a larger North American business strategy, the openings highlight Uniqlo’s dedication to introducing its high-quality, staple-based apparel to Canadian consumers. Since opening outlets in Canada in 2016, the brand has been growing.
Canada is positioned as a key market for Uniqlo’s North American strategy, which calls for the company to open 200 stores by 2027.
In addition to aiming to expand its footprint in major cities like South Edmonton Common, the business may develop stores in locations including Winnipeg, Halifax, Quebec City, and London, Ontario. With possible locations on Robson Street or in the former Nordstrom building, the long-rumored idea of opening a flagship store in downtown Vancouver may also materialise, providing Uniqlo with a prominent street-front presence in the city.
