Footlocker has officially entered the Indian market with its first store located in New Delhi at Nexus Select City Walk. The store is a 4,888-square-foot outlet, which is a strategic partnership between Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, encompassing both in-store and online retail in the country.
Foot Locker’s district sales manager Cherry Grewal shared her excitement on social media about the journey leading up to the launch. “One year ago, when Foot Locker announced its India entry for 2024, I knew I had to be part of it,” Grewal stated.
The launch event featured Foot Locker’s CEO, Mary Dillon, who attended in a saree inspired by the brand’s iconic monochrome stripes and included cultural performances for over 150 guests. The event drew a positive response, with Metro Brands’ president Alisha Malik expressing confidence in Foot Locker’s ability to cater to India’s evolving retail landscape. “We are excited to elevate sneaker culture in India,” Malik commented.
Design Matrix managed the store’s design and build, ensuring alignment with Foot Locker’s global image. The store offers footwear collections for men, women, and children from brands such as Adidas Originals, Fila, Asics, Nike, New Balance, and Puma.
