Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali has emphasised the need to further enhance Bangladesh’s relations with the European Union (EU), recognising it as a significant market for the country.
Addressing queries from leaders and members of the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) following a meeting with EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Charles Whiteley at his secretariat office recently, the Finance Minister highlighted the substantial market presence Bangladesh enjoys in the EU.
He acknowledged the positive trajectory of various aspects such as export market performance, overseas employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers, and the favourable reputation earned by Bangladeshis for their quality work.
Ali emphasised the importance of exploring avenues to bolster these conditions and strengthen Bangladesh’s ties with the EU.
