Chanel is expanding its winter retail presence in European ski resorts with its new Coco Neige collection. While maintaining its regular winter store in the French resort at Courchevel, Chanel will introduce new addresses in Megève, France, and the Swiss resort Gstaad.
The 128-square-meter Courchevel store is adorned with a high-tech satin fabric with a star pattern designed for this season. The store, located on rue de l’Eglise, will open from 15th December – till March. The store will also feature the latest Coco Neige collection, inspired by figure skating and fronted by Lily-Rose Depp.
In Gstaad, Chanel’s temporary store, set in a wood-built chalet on Lauenenstrasse, dates back to the early 20th century. The 12-meter-square space spans two floors and will feature the cruise collection 2023-24 alongside the Coco Neige collection and top-end watches and jewellery items. Marking a debut in Gstaad, the store will open from 18th December to 8th March.
In Megève, Chanel’s inaugural presence will be at the historic Chalet des Sœurs on rue du Comte de Capré, running from 15th December to 12th January. The 84-square-meter store will feature the skiwear collection by Creative Director Virginie Viard, focusing on denim items.
With the luxury fashion sphere exploring winter sports categories, the labels are diversifying and introducing new ready-to-wear with specific accessories in their product ranges. Other luxury brands introducing their skiwear lines include Louis Vuitton, Balmain, Pucci, and Boss, marking their entry into the segment Balenciaga.
