Fast-fashion giant SHEIN is gearing up for a significant UK expansion with plans to inaugurate a new office in Manchester.
This office will mark the company’s second presence in the UK, complementing its existing London office that presently employs approximately 40 professionals.
As per reports from The Mail, SHEIN aims to onboard 15 new team members in 2024, initiating a hiring spree that’s already in progress. These roles are anticipated to focus on recruiting clothing buyers and designers, specifically targeting the UK and European markets.
SHEIN has already been sourcing some of its clothing from manufacturing hubs in Leicester and Manchester, a strategy that aligns with its localisation approach.
This strategic move follows SHEIN’s recent acquisition of Missguided from Frasers Group, marking its inaugural foray into British brand ownership. The undisclosed acquisition reinforced SHEIN’s presence in the UK market.
Earlier this month, SHEIN formally expressed interest in bidding for Topshop, underlining the company’s intentions to fortify its position in the fashion industry, particularly in the online sphere.
