Vinted, a Lithuanian second-hand expert, has announced the roll-out of product verification services for products priced over € 100 in order to attract high-end apparel and accessory vendors. This system is the result of months of experimentation.
The service is available for € 10 as an optional add-on for customers of qualified items. These things, according to Vinted, will be handled by qualified and experienced staff stationed in Hamburg. This service will first be available in the French, Italian, German, Belgian, and Dutch markets. This follows last year’s acquisition of the German luxury reselling platform, Rebelle.
Depending on the brand and selling price, buyers can seek verification via a special badge on product pages. Around a hundred labels are currently eligible, including Bottega Veneta, Céline, Jacquemus, Adidas, and New Balance. Vinted intends to gradually broaden its verification skills to include additional brands, markets, and categories.
“Since the creation of Vinted 15 years ago, our commitment has always been to make second-hand fashion the first choice for everyone,” said Adam Jay, the CEO of Vinted.
