MSCHF, the renowned art collective, has once again captivated the world with its latest creation, the MSCHF Microscopic Handbag. This extraordinary piece of art is a minute replica of the popular Louis Vuitton OnTheGo handbag, rendered with astonishing precision.
Measuring a mere 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers and despite its proportions, MSCHF managed to intricately carve the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram onto the surface of the tiny bag, ensuring that even its tiniest details are not overlooked.
Interestingly, the Microscopic Handbag is not being sold through MSCHF’s conventional channels. Instead, it will be featured in the upcoming ‘Just Phriends’ auction, curated by Sarah Andelman, co-founder of Colette, for Pharrell’s Joopiter auction house.
This exclusive event will showcase unique creations from renowned artists and fashion brands such as Chanel, KAWS, Richard Mille, and even Louis Vuitton itself. However, MSCHF has revealed that they did not obtain permission from Louis Vuitton to create their Microscopic Handbag.
Kevin Wiesner, the Chief Creative Officer of MSCHF, explained the inspiration behind this diminutive creation. He stated, “Pharrell loves big hats, so we made him an incredibly small bag.” This playful remark highlights MSCHF’s intention to challenge the norms of luxury accessories and inject a sense of whimsy into their art pieces.
MSCHF is an American art collective based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. MSCHF has produced a wide range of artworks, ranging from browser plugins to sneakers, physical products, social media channels, and AI-generated foot photographs.
