Following a gas leak, more than 50 women of Quantum Seeds garment factory, in Brandix Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Atchyutapuram district of Andhra Pradesh, have been hospitalised.
The victims are being treated and they are stable, and no causalities have been reported yet.
The real cause of the sickness has not been known as of now. Media reports say that the leak, reportedly, took place at a chemical company adjacent to the garment factory. This is the second such incident in two months.

The pollution control board has taken the samples, which will be sent to Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) in Secunderabad for examination.
Initial reports suggest that women employees fell unconscious due to vomiting and nausea.
Local police are waiting for Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) officials to arrive and assess the situation and no one has been allowed to enter inside the premises.
The Brandix SEZ employs thousands of workers, mostly women, in the garment manufacturing units.
