The first apparel consignment from Bangladesh’s Mongla Port left for Europe recently after 27 garment factories, including Windy Apparels Ltd., KC Lingerie Ltd., Fakir Apparels Ltd., Artistic Design Ltd., Knit Concern Ltd., Meghna Knit Composite Ltd. and Sharmin Apparels Ltd., sent various garment products, such as children’s clothes, jerseys and cardigans, t-shirts and trousers, to buyers overseas, using the Mongla Port.
Media reports maintained this adding the same has been made possible following the completion of the Padma Bridge, which has brought Mongla Port in the southwest coastal region of the country closer to capital Dhaka thereby saving a lot of time and money.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Chairman of the Mongla Port Authority (MPA) Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, reportedly, maintained the apparel products were sent directly from the Mongla Port to Poland in containers owned by several apparel exporters from Bangladesh.
