BAN or the Bangladesh Angels Network, Bangladesh’s first angel investment network, created with a mission to nurture the innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, has recently launched its sister chapter Bangladesh Women Investors Network (BWIN), to support women entrepreneurs and investors.
Media reports maintained this adding the launch event was attended by key stakeholders, founders and investors from the country’s start-up community.
The BWIN will be, reportedly, overseen by an advisory board, which will be supported by committees to screen women-led and women-focused companies as well as to oversee a fellowship programme for young Bangladeshi women to be placed into start-ups for internships and management trainee positions, in order to build a long-term talent pipeline of women start-up leaders in the ecosystem.
It may be mentioned here Bangladesh Angels is now a global network with more than 340 members.
