
Most of the apparel factories in Bangladesh have already disbursed the wage and bonus ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha even if some factories that are expected to operate on Saturday were yet to pay wages and bonus.
Media reports claimed this adding as per apparel makers and workers’ leaders, more than 95 per cent of the factories have already completed payments to their workers.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, BGMEA sources have, reportedly, also claimed there were no issues related to Eid holidays as most of the big factories have already fixed how long they will be on Eid holiday through internal meetings before the directives of the Labour Minister even if data from the Industrial Police, as of 7 July, reportedly, added, 99.60 per cent of overall industries have paid their wages and 100 per cent of them have paid the bonuses for the Eid-ul-Azha.
