Mumbai (India)-based Donear Group has announced the acquisition of OCM Woolen Mills, known for producing a premium range of high-quality all-wool and wool-blended worsted suiting fabrics.
This is second such acquisition since September 2017 for Donear Group.
The textile company acquired GBTL Ltd. (formerly known as Grasim Bhiwani Textile Limited) in September. Earlier this year, Donear acquired the PV Suiting Fabrics business.
The acquisition of OCM, India’s first integrated worsted woollen fabric manufacturing facility, has now made Donear the biggest branded menswear fabric manufacturer in the country.
Additionally, the strategic move will allow the Group to provide its product range for all weather conditions.
However, Donear has no plan to introduce any change in the day-to-day management or existing policies at the OCM unit.
OCM Woolen Mills, like GBTL Ltd., will continue to operate as an independent woollen fabric products manufacturing unit under the guidance of Donear Group.
The company’s 37-acre site houses an advanced plant with 23,000 spindles, 120 high-speed shuttles-less looms and a woollen processing unit. The facility’s production capacity stands at 25,000 metres of fabric a day.
“We have, however, charted out ambitious and aggressive plans to promote the OCM brand,” said Rajendra Agarwal, Promoter of Donear Group.
