Despite fashion retail giant Macy’s continuous shuttering of its stores, it has moved ahead with the expansion and reopening of its Westfield Century City, LA, USA location last week. The mall, which is currently undergoing a US $ 1 billion expansion, has added 422,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
The store’s POV is claimed by two My Stylist offices and a dress department. Store Manager Negin Shahabikia said that customers from the Platinum Triangle neighbourhoods, comprised of Bel Air, Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills, have historically been “a big business” for the store.

Despite the reduction in the number of its stores, former Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren said that physical stores “will play an exceedingly important role in the future of shopping for us”. In January, the retailer declared that it would shut 68 of its stores by the mid-2017, eliminating 3,900 jobs.
