California-based outdoor clothing retailer Patagonia has announced to open its first outlet in Austria. The company has chosen Innsbruck, capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol, to set up its shop in the country.
The upcoming store, expected to open doors this fall, will be spread in an area of 197 square meters. Apparel for several sports, including climbing, skiing, snowboarding and trail running will be stocked here. Additionally, free clothing repair service will also be offered here.
The brand will also host public talks about sports and environmental issues at the upcoming store.
Patagonia is recognized internationally for its commitment to authentic product quality and environmental activism, contributing over $78 million in grants and in-kind donations since 1985.
The retail brand has a retail network of eight stores in European countries like France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Additionally, it also retails its products through more than 1200 multi-brand stores in the continent.
The outdoor clothing retailer, which has been supporting the grassroots activists working to find solutions to the environmental crisis, is known worldwide for raising the voice for public land rights. It remained vocal against actions taken by the US President Donald Trump administration and took actions to block President’s move to shrink the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah in December last year.
