OSKELLY, the largest luxury fashion resale platform in Eastern Europe, is set to make its mark in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to revolutionise the country’s fashion landscape. With a reinvestment of over US $ 1 million, the company seeks to digitalise the US $ 89 billion Middle East fashion resale industry, foster a strong community around its platform, promote expert authenticity, and encourage sustainable consumption in the region.
As part of its expansion into the Middle East, OSKELLY is introducing an omnichannel fashion wardrobe ecosystem for luxury resale in the MENA region, featuring new digital and AI solutions tailored for Emirati users. The platform’s app facilitates free services for users to sell and purchase pre-owned luxury goods, simplifying the process of reducing unwanted wardrobe items. The resale platform offers a set of app functions, including social tools for user interaction, item bidding, and collection sharing.
OSKELLY advocates for affordable and sustainable fashion in the Middle East, aiming to reshape customer habits in the fashion market by dispelling the stigma associated with the resale of pre-owned items.
Founded in 2017 by siblings Albert Oskanov and Zaira Keligova, OSKELLY has garnered a user base of over 500,000 in Europe and boasts a portfolio of more than 3,000 luxury brands. The platform fosters an international community of fashion enthusiasts, enabling clients to connect with like-minded individuals. To combat counterfeit sales, OSKELLY has established an in-house team of experts who conduct offline authenticity checks on every luxury item sold on the platform.
The Middle East fashion industry market, estimated at US $ 89 billion, presents a ripe opportunity for such platforms. Dubai’s second-hand luxury bag market alone is valued at AED 250 million (US $ 68 million). The region exhibits significant potential, with a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate of around 7 per cent from 2023 to 2027. The UAE’s fashion market revenue is anticipated to reach US $ 3.47 billion in 2023. OSKELLY sees this as the opportune time to make its mark in the industry.
