Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., the Japan-based knitting machine provider, unveils the latest subscription-based design software and two web services to help companies in their digital transformation journey.
Through the innovation, the technology supplier is also extending support to the business to combat challenges of COVID-19 and to streamline their workflow which is being done remotely and digitally.
Moreover, the solution will also help in reducing the waste thus achieving sustainability with improved efficiency.
The newly launched design software SDSR-ONE APEX FizTM is subscription-based software that is installed on customers’ individual computers.
Prior to this, the company’s series of APEX design system was being offered as all-in-one proprietary hardware/software package.
Fiz gives versatility to adapt to different work styles and environment as it is available in 5 different versions from Fiz Design Pro to Fiz Design Jr. to meet the individual customer needs. It supports planning, design to colourways evaluation, realistic fabric simulation and 3D virtual sampling.
The virtual sampling platform is a collaborative platform that streamlines the communication between the studio and the factory.
The two web-based services include yarnbankTM, digital yarn data and SHIMANAVITM, an online training facility.
The yarnbankTM is a web service that allows viewing and searching of latest data of yarn which is developed with cooperation from companies from around the world. The registered users have free access to the database of the yarn that can be used for fabric simulation and virtual sampling.
The users can also download the data for free. yarnbankTM is also used as a promotional platform for yarn companies to present their yarn directly to the consumers.
While the SHIMAnAVITM is an e-learning platform that supports APEX series users with online training, it has several courses available in different languages which can be taken when and where needed.
