The past few months of political instability in the country has not deterred the progress of the Italian pioneer Morgan Tecnica, with the company venturing into new product segments and also initiating new cutting room optimization projects. The company has recently launched its Next 70 and Next 90 range of premium cutters.
At the 2014 edition of the Garmentech show, the company displayed its Fox 50 spreading machines which can spread any kind of material, from elastic and light fabrics in rolls as well in open folded bundle. The double PVC belt allows laying of even difficult fabrics like Lycra in easy manner. An electronic device checks and eliminates the fabric tension in real time, for real tension-free spreading while the special folded device with a motorized spiral roller, Morgan Fox 50 can spread open folded knit fabric with unique quality results.

Anandakumar shares, “The spreaders are compact, versatile and flexible guaranteeing top performances in spreading, in terms of quality and productivity with good ergonomic design.” The machine has maximum speed of 100 metres per minute with spreading width as 180-230 cm with automatic edge alignment by photocells. The machine generates fabric usage report with capacity of storing 24 different parameters profile.
Morgan along with its sole agent Eastman Technocrats has developed a team of 8 technicians for sourcing its customers. The company deputes their Application Managers for training the operators along with machine technicians when undertaking projects. “Besides installing machines, our focus has been on training operators on new systems and benchmark methodologies for using the machine to its fullest and to reduce the machine downtime,” says Manik Chowdhury, MD, Eastman Technocrafts.
As of today, Morgan has near about 35 spreaders and 10 cutters installed in the country with some of the leading garment manufacturer like Mondol, Fatullah, Mascotex, Giant and Metro Group. Mascotex, a unit of Masco Group has already installed 10 spreaders from the company and another 9 are in the pipeline. Similarly Mondol Group has already installed 6 spreaders from Morgan and another 10 are in the pipeline.
Presently, Morgan’s 8 projects are running in Bangladesh which would require 24 spreaders and 6 cutters in total.
