France-based Lectra has recently introduced new solutions – ‘Lectra Connected Design’ and ‘Lectra Connected Development’, to empower design and product development teams of manufacturing houses.
According to the tech company, fashion firms across the globe are feeling the brunt of dynamic consumer needs and looking for new ways to speed up design and development processes without bargaining on the quality aspect.
Thus, Lectra, the renowned technology provider to the apparel and textile industry, claims that its latest innovations will enable fashion businesses to fulfil the consumer’s specific needs. In the press statement issued, the company states that the solutions are capable of creating a collaborative environment and assimilate business applications to amass, standardise and store data across design and product development stages.
The company elucidates that ‘Lectra Connected Design’ facilitates collaboration between textile and fashion designers, colourists, graphic designers, technical designers and their managers by providing design teams with a ‘connected’ environment. The design team has the access to the platform through Lectra Kaledo (a design software) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
This ‘linking’ will allow them to not only share inspiration but also review collections together via dedicated mobile apps, and thus powers the user to streamline, automate and invigilate the entire design cycle (even in crunch production times).
The second innovation – ‘Lectra Connected Development’ is another supportive tool for the fashion companies as it connects the key members of the cycle: patternmakers, graders, technical design groups, managers, cost and margin specialists, marker makers and sample teams. The technology allows them to develop a collaboration through Lectra Modaris 2D and 3D patternmaking and Lectra Diamino Fashion marker-making software.
Lectra claims the effective execution of the technology can significantly help the users avoid errors and deliver the right product quality and fit via continuous communication in real time.
The company appears to be quite buoyant on the fact that with these new means of collaboration through sound data management, design and product development teams will be able to work faster and easily to produce quality products. “That way, they can reach their fullest potential as key contributors to their companies’ success,” underlines Céline Choussy Bedouet, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Lectra.
