ECHA has launched a new IT-tool called ePIC, which has been developed to ensure that the requirements under the revised Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Regulation are supported by a comprehensive IT system. With a vision to fully replace the present European Commission tool, EDEXIM, ePIC has been developed to enable the exporters, importers, Member States, the European Commission, customs and ECHA to play their roles in managing and monitoring the export and import of very hazardous chemicals. The new IT-tool has three independent interfaces- the first is dedicated to industry users, the second to authority users (ECHA, designated national authorities and the European Commission) and the third is for customs officers.
