
Technical textiles have been among the high growth potential sectors worldwide with increasing number of apparel applications wherein Non-woven fabrics have been the top gainer. With countries like Taiwan, North America, EU, Korea, Japan and Australia, being among the top manufacturers, the Indian technical textiles industry is also growing at a rapid pace. Although still doing very small quantities compared to the top players, the sector has been growing at an annual rate of 8-10% currently, and is expected to touch the mark of 12-15% in the next few years.
The non-woven fabrics usedin the manufacturing of a wide variety of products ranging from baby diapersto medical accessories to various types of masks, covers and filters, currently hasaround 50 big manufacturers in India, producing a total of 1,90,000 tonnes of fabricyearly, out of which 83,000 tonnes is spun bond non-woven fabric. The manufacturing of this type of fabric is totally dependent on the machinery and equipment, widely manufactured by various Chinese and European brands and among the few top manufacturers of machinery for PP spun bond non-woven fabric is DongYang AoLong Non-woven Equipment from China. Proud of its success in the competitive Indian market, Anchial says, “Our after-sales service, technical support, know-how of the product, wide range of products and cost competitiveness has ensured the success.” The company has installed machines in Ludhiana, Hyderabad and Gujarat; even Kolkata is a new upcoming market for them. “We have 100 machines installations in the country and are positive about the future. My target is to install 300-400 machines more in the coming 3-4 years,” shared Anchial.
Al-nonwoven with ISO and CE certifications, has installed a number of PP spun bonded non-woven fabric production lines from 1.6 m, 1.8 m, 2.4 m to 3.2 m for different variants like S, SS, SMS and SMMS in Bangladesh, Turkey, Russia, Vietnam and many more countries.” concludes Anchial.
