Set up in 1932, Cerliani primarily manufactures the CM® brandedhooks and bobbin cases for domestic, industrial and embroidery sewing machines, has become synonymous with “precision and guarantee of high quality”.
Daniele Cerliani, Vice President Cerliani Group, talking about their success in India, said, “Our business has grown by 50 per cent every year and we credit Rajasthan International, our local agent, playing an important role. Our success is also primarily because of the high quality of our products, which are energy- efficient, offer low friction and longer life, and are basically oil free, giving better quality finish.” Complimenting the role played by Rajasthan Intl., and especially S. Bayani, Daniele said, “The highly trained technical staff of Rajasthan Intl. works to understand the needs of each of our potential customers and trains as well as guides them through the range to select the best option suitable for their needs”.
Engaged in constant research work, Cerliani has developed two patented technologies which were displayed at JIAM this year. “The CM patented ‘easy to adjust’ the peripheral needle guard is an innovative idea that produces a fine adjustment of the same fastened with only two screws to the hook, without the necessity of the third screw for the mere adjustment function.” said Daniele. Usually, during the sewing operation, when the hook point grazes the needle, the needle guard mounted on the vertical hook prevents the needle from colliding with the hook point. This needle guard rotates jointly with the hook and needs to be adjusted in its position, in respect to the hook point. This method is applicable on all types of needle guards, and particularly to vertical needle hooks that, because of the lack of space, do not permit the application of a third screw close to the hook point. This method is simpler and more economic, needing one less screw. This facility allows the operator to adjust with precision, the needle guard through a simple, cheap and reliable operation.
Also on display was the collection of special coatings for hooks and bobbin cases which offer longer life, less surface tension, and better control of material under different working conditions. “One of the popular coatings offered by the company is the hard chromium coating, which offers low friction, oil free sewing up to 800 to 1000 spm, and up to 6000 spm for sewing with regular lubrication.” Daniele added. Other coatings provided by the company on special request are the TS coating for embroidery machines, TTN coating for sewing with synthetic threads and lingerie, DC20 for medium to heavy sewing, and DC10 for very heavy sewing with abrasive threads.
Not worried about the Chinese competition, Daniele Cerliani commented, “People who believe in quality is our market and we have major presence in this segment.”
