Using the event as the launchpad, Yuho Sewing Machine Ltd. introduced its new model of the shirt sleeve placket setter U-2702-E. Offering the automisation technology for accurate folding of the placket without the help of hand, the machine promised high productivity with quality stitching to its clients stitching dresses, blouses, shirts, etc.
The biggest advantage offered by the machine is the solution to the problem of discolouration caused by heat setting of the fold, which is done manually by the operator prior to stitching. The sewing head, located on the left side, ensures consistent sewing free from the problem of thread breakage. It also offers a low speed and a second needle thread tension device for the top stitching of the placket.
The pre folded placket piece has to be just set on the gauge, and the placket gets folded instantly in the pattern former; folding and pressing takes just 0.3 seconds. Once the sleeve fabric is loaded on the placket piece, sewing starts automatically (0.8 mm top-stitching). After the sewing process, the thread is automatically trimmed and stacked. In addition, the second ‘holding mechanism’ easily and accurately matches the plaids of the sleeve fabric with the placket piece. Also, the machine ensures that there is no need for pattern conversion when the placket sewing length is changed.
The operation control box is attached to the ‘LED’ display panel allowing various operational programming in a simple format. Up to 20 patterns are programmable; left and right placket can alternate automatically, and can also be converted separately. In addition, different sewing speeds, stacking time, bobbin counting, etc. can also be programmed. The newly designed thread catching device holds the needle thread after thread trimming and releases the same when sewing starts. This saves excess needle thread trimming. The machine moves at a maximum speed of 5,000 rpm. The maximum placket length that can be achieved is 180 mm, with a maximum placket width of 20-30 mm and placket thickness of 6 mm.
