Assyst, a 3D simulation software and X Rite Pantone, a global leader in colour science technology, have joined forces to provide best results in 3D clothing simulation. The partnership calls for the integration of Assyst’s Vidya 3D software and X-rite Pantone’s Total Appearance Capture (TAC™) Scanner. This cooperation was announced at Assyst’s Fashion Forum 2018 in Munich, Germany.
“We want to continuously expand our pioneering role in 3D clothing simulation. The collaboration with X-Rite Pantone will take material presentation in Vidya to a new level of reality,” says Dr. Andreas Seidl, CEO of Human Solutions Group.
Vidya 3D software offers virtual representations of fabric, cut panels, and human body. With the help of 3D technology, a user can cut down on product development costs and time, thus providing higher efficiency.
On the other hand, Total Appearance Capture (TAC) eliminates the challenges faced by designers during product development process. It captures images of physical objects and creates its digital images with precision. The digital images are accurate enough in terms of measurement that no manual intervention or tweaking is required. Therefore, giving designers more time to spend on designing rather than corrections.
Dr. Francis Lamy, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of X-Rite Pantone further explains, “Total appearance is much more than just colour. It is the visual sensation through which an object is perceived. It encompasses not only colour but size, texture, gloss, transparency, and opacity.”
