The trend for mixed gender runways continues to spiral upwards and the latest fashion house to join the parade is Roberto Cavalli.
The Florentine fashion house has opted for a co-ed strategy for one season only (to begin with).
Scheduled to take place during the next Milan Women’s Fashion Week, from 21-27 February 2018, the fashion house will be presenting both its men’s and women’s fall 2018 collections together at a single show.
The presentation will also see the Roberto Cavalli’s new Creative Director, Paul Surridge, take the reins for the brand’s menswear showcases since he joined in last May. The British designer already has the brand’s womenswear showcase to his credit which was held last September.
Additionally, the fashion brand has also revealed that it will return to showcasing its menswear collections twice a year during Milan Fashion Weeks in January and June commencing from the spring 2019 season.
The decision of the label to opt for a mixed gender runaway showcase comes with many other high fashion players choosing to take the same route. More recently, fashion brands such as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Missoni, Bottega Veneta, among others, have also chimed in to go co-ed on the runway starting February 2018.
