Street style spotted at the recently concluded Tokyo Fashion Week 2019, could well be self-explanatory for the region’s high interest in fashion. Along with Copenhagen, Tokyo could well be one of the top street fashion capitals of the world.

Current, highly imaginative and bold- the populace fearlessly flaunted their eccentric – yet visually appealing looks prior to, during and post-shows. The streets of Japan’s most fashion forward city turned into a celebration of colour, prints and styles as the shutters went on a frenzy of clicks per second.

Dramatic and statement sleeves are a mainstay this season, along with neon green and popping pinks. Padded and puffer jackets observe uniform status, as the majority experiments with different lengths and volumes.

Animal print is still popular, mashed up against fiercer patterns, and checks score high over jackets and blazers.

Many DIY iterations came to the fore, with steer style stalwarts experimenting with deconstructed looks, frayed hems, hand painted patterns and outlandish accessories. – A special mention to accessories! Pocket chains, tiered necklaces, bucket hats and berets, rings, sneakers and bold belts were a head turner during the event.

We have rounded up some of the best looks sure to have an impact on the fashion industry, as seen at Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo Fall/Winter 2019 – the most famous fashion event in Japan.
