
Rosegal, the plus size fashion brand, is commemorating its five successful years in the niche business. The brand pioneers in using social media activations as its preferred source of advertising and is preparing more of such online activities to celebrate its five year anniversary.
From online discounts, coupons, lucky draws to referral programmes, Rosegal’s loyal herd of followers will be able to enjoy a plethora of offers. Additionally, the retailer will also allow free shipping during the period of 16 to 18 July on all orders which incidentally coincides with Amazon’s Prime Day as well as a heavy discounting week on other websites like Target.
With this milestone, the brand has also announced its foray into more categories for the plus size shopper. Johnny Wang, Product Director at Rosegal revealed plans for the launch of sports, underwear, and related accessories segment in 2019.
Though operating in a niche plus size industry, Rosegal has fostered a massive registered user base of 40 million shoppers from 180 countries. The retailer has bolstered and maintained an average growth rate of a whopping 80 percent whilst boasting of 8-10 million monthly active visitors on its site.
The reason behind this is that Rosegal offers to fill a much needed demand gap of trendy fashion in bigger sizes. Research from NPD Group remarks that this market, meaning clothing of US Size 14 or more was calculated to be a US $ 21.4 billion industry.
Of this, teenagers in the States constitute of a major chunk of this market and Rosegal being an early entrant into the market has capitalized on this opportunity by stocking over 60 percent of plus size assortment on its site and resonating with younger audiences by using social media and word of mouth marketing.
