The ITMF Annual Conference and IAF World Fashion Convention kicked off in Samarkand, bringing together over 500 industry professionals to discuss the future of the global textile and apparel industry. The theme of this year’s event was “Innovation, Cooperation, and Regulation — Drivers of the Textile and Apparel Industry.”
Key stakeholders, including prominent Uzbek textile producers, international investors, and government representatives, gathered to explore Uzbekistan’s growing potential in the textile sector. Notable attendees highlighted recent reforms and modernization efforts that have positioned Uzbekistan as a significant player in the industry.
During the conference, Mirmukhsin Sultanov, Acting Chairman of Uztextileprom, emphasised Uzbekistan’s rich historical connection to textile trade, tracing back to the ancient Silk Road. He expressed optimism about the nation’s ambitious goal of achieving $10 billion in textile exports by 2030.
The event serves as a platform for showcasing Uzbekistan’s advancements in the textile sector while fostering international partnerships and collaboration.
