2016 edition of Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen witnessed 15 per cent rise in footfall with over 17,000 visitors attending the show from 37 countries as compared to 14,855 visitors last year. Hong Kong, US, Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, Korea, Australia, Japan and Turkey were among the top 10 overseas visitors.
A total of 675 exhibitors from seven countries exhibited at the three-day event as compared to 677 exhibitors at the 2015 edition. However, overseas participants registered growth. “A growth of 10 per cent in number of international exhibitors from Taiwan and Japan, including the new Fine Japan zone proves the rising prominence of the South China textile market for overseas suppliers”, states Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. (organiser of the show).
The exhibitors appeared keen to explore the opportunities in the South China market despite the uncertain global economic situation. First time exhibitor WIG Korea has just begun to develop its business in the China market and chose Shenzhen as the entry point. WIG Korea first time exhibited at the Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen and Kevin Seo, President of the company was content with the strong interest of target buyers in their products.
