The much-awaited 8th edition of GAPEXPO 2017 (an international expo on garments accessories) organized by Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) will start on January 18.

To be held at International Convention City, Bashundhara, Dhaka, the four-day mega event on garment accessories will reportedly have about 600 stalls in 8 halls, where manufacturers from Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Finland and Switzerland will exhibit their latest products.
A total of 94 companies from Bangladesh and abroad will display garments accessories and packaging items, all kinds of machinery used in accessory and garment manufacturing along with boilers and spare parts.

“GAPEXPO provides an international standards platform for manufacturers to display latest accessories products for the RMG exporters and buying houses from home and abroad,” said BGAPMEA President Abdul Kader Khan, adding, “It also helps domestic manufacturers of RMG accessories exchange views with the other manufacturers to enrich their knowledge”.
It may be mentioned here that Bangladesh RMG sector has set export target of US $ 50 billion by 2021 and the accessories sector can help attaining the target if the Government provides policy support, reportedly said Khan. “We will be able to contribute about US $ 12 billion to attain the target,” Khan added.
