
The Coimbatore state government will organise a three-day international textile expo, to promote the textile sector. The event is scheduled to be held from January 27, 2019 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
There would be 600 stalls at the expo, where 300 importers and buyers from countries like Europe, China , Vietnam, are expected to participate.
“The aim is to project Tamil Nadu as a destination to source all types of textile products,” said, K Palanisamy, Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu.
He further added that the fair will help in increasing exports. Tamil Nadu’s textile industry, which is currently exporting about Rs 45,000 crore worth of goods annually, will get an opportunity to showcase quality products and penetrate new markets and also get new buyers, shared Raja M Shanmugham president, Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA).
A total investment of around Rs 2 crore has been allocated for organising the event which will be inaugurated by the state Chief Minister.
