
Eurotay, Turkey-based textile factory, is all set to start a textile unit in the city of Kraljevo in Central Serbia. Eurotay, which is a member of the Tai Group, believes that the new plant will provide employment to 2,500 people.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited the factory recently along with Serbian Minister of Trade, Rasim Ljajic and the Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia, Tanju Bilgic. The Mayor of Kraljevo, Predrag Terzic was also present.
While thanking the President for visiting the factory, Mesut Toprak, Chairman, Tai Group, said that the textile plant will be completed by March 2019 and will become operational by April 2019.
Tai Group has invested € 35 million in the plant that is expected to annually manufacture 7 million pairs of jeans.
Notably, the company has trained around 115 workers to work in the factory.
The Serbian President hoped that the Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan would be part of the official opening of the factory next year. He also expected to see more investors and tourists from Turkey in the coming years.
