43rd Edition of “IHGF- Delhi Fair Spring 2017” has been inaugurated by Textiles Secretary Rashmi Verma on February 16. The fair is amongst Asia’s largest gifts & handicrafts fair and will run till February 20, 2017 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. It’s worth mentioning here that IHGF holds a place in Limca Book of World Records as “the world’s largest congregation of handicrafts exhibitors under one roof.”
While inaugurating the fair, the Textiles Secretary commented, “Every year visitors get to experience new product lines on display and this is the reason that large number of buyers from across the globe visit IHGF to source their requirements.”
Overseas buyers, domestic volume retail buyers from many leading retail chains of India as well as e-commerce companies have started exhibiting their products and are expected to generate huge amount of enquiries and orders all through the 5-day long fair.

Congratulating the organizer, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) of India, Rashmi further stated that EPCH is playing a key role in hand-holding and providing the platform at IHGF, to artisans, craftsperson and upcoming entrepreneurs from different craft clusters to interact directly with international buyers and this direct buyer-seller meet will make a way to achieve exports target as well as enhance the Indian handicrafts’ image worldwide.
It may be noted here that Indian handicraft’s export target for the year 2016-17 is US $ 3,600 million (Rs. 23,560 crores) and the EPCH hopes to achieve the target as IHGF is catching the attention of potential and serious buyers.
This year’s edition has attracted nearly 6,500 foreign exhibitors including some renowned international buying companies such as New Edition Home B.V. (Netherlands), TOK & Stok (Brazil), E&L (Australia), ROOST (USA), Accent Decor Inc (USA), MOE’s Home (Canada), Kangaroo Gmbh (Germany) and Kopyko (Venezuela).
