
Organized by Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Association (ECCSA) along with Embassy of India and the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Promotion Council, an exhibition of Indian textiles was held from 13-14 August to strengthen the trade between India and Ethiopia. 20 Indian textile companies participated in the exhibition by displaying their products for buyers. Srijubi Roy, JD, Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Promotion Council said that the exhibition a unique platform to meet, connect and develop an excellent network particularly in the fastest growing man-made textile area and seek new business opportunities with Indian counterparts.
Gashaw Debebe, Secretary General of ECCSA, commented that the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries has contributed to significant growth in trade and investment and Ethiopia is witnessing multi-billion dollar Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from India in various sectors of the economy as an increasing number of Indian investors and garment manufacturers are enticed to the country.
