The TPP Apparel Coalition appreciated the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which it believes is a ground-breaking trade agreement that will join together consumers in the United States and 11 other TPP member countries. Representing 40 per cent of the world’s GDP, the TPP will help apparel brands and retailers reduce costs, enter new markets, and support trade-based jobs, it said in a press release.

The association said this deal is an important step that sets the stage for sanction by each of the TPP member nations. Timely ratification and seamless implementation is important so that our industry and the millions of American workers they employ can take advantage of the benefits of the TPP.
The TPP Apparel Coalition said it supports the TPP agreement and the provisions that create new trade and investment opportunities for the benefit of workers, businesses, and families. These opportunities include buying and selling goods and services, sustaining and growing well-paying US jobs, and providing high added value for the US and TPP economies, the press release mentions.

The TPP Apparel Coalition includes American retailers, apparel brands, apparel manufacturers, and importers. Its member companies design, market, and retail products manufactured in and imported to the United States, as well as market and retail products across the TPP partner countries.
