The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (DCCI) business to business (B2B) conclave, said to be the first and the largest virtual B2B conclave in Bangladesh, was inaugurated on 5 January (Tuesday) to connect the global entrepreneurs.
The three-day event is being organised to attract FDI, increase business to business interactions globally (especially in the wake of the new normal), joint ventures and sourcing cost-efficient destinations for import and exploring potential export destinations, underlined a press note issued by the DCCI earlier.
Taking part in the inaugural ceremony of the event — the participating companies in the three-day event are mainly from the Apparel and Textile apart from Plastic Products, IT and ITES sectors, Agro and Food processing, Light Engineering, Leather Goods and Medicine — Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said Dhaka now emphasises on economic diplomacy to pursue the country’s (Bangladesh) economic interests abroad including market access and securing FDI.
“We hope this international business conclave will deepen economic ties between Bangladesh and participating economies,” reportedly maintained DCCI President Rizwan Rahman while underlining it would help facilitate manifold trade and investment opportunities for Bangladesh and partner countries and called upon the entrepreneurs from participating nations to come up with initiative to invest in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sectors to reap dividends of accelerated economic growth.
