Textile Development Unit (TDU) has been set up within the Ministry of Industry and Trade by the Tanzania Government to back the investors. The investors through TDU can find information they require regarding the advantages of investing, investment incentives and guarantees and info on setting up a business in Tanzania. Tanzania has two main cotton growing zones that include seven regions, namely, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Tabora, Mara, Singida, Geita, and Simiyu which grows 97 per cent of Tanzania’s cotton, allowing the country to reduce its cotton imports.
